Tim Newman

Producer

Tim Newman, a British national, came to Paris for his studies at the University Panthéon-Assas and Sciences Po Paris.

In 1986, he co-founded the production company NBDC with Antoine de Caunes, Alex Berger, and later Peter Stuart. The partners launched several programs, including “Arthur l’émission impossible” hosted by Arthur, “Merci et encore bravo” hosted by Christine Bravo, and “Rapido” presented by Antoine de Caunes. Due to the British success of “Rapido,” NBDC, in collaboration with Richard Branson, created the production company Rapido TV. Rapido TV notably produced the cult show “Eurotrash” hosted by Jean-Paul Gaultier and Antoine de Caunes, as well as numerous entertainment programs for Channel 4 and the BBC.

In 1994, Tim Newman founded his own production company: Froggies Media. In parallel, he created France’s first interactive television channel with Canal+: Spectacle. With Froggies Media, Tim produced numerous documentaries, short programs, and entertainment shows broadcasted on channels including France Télévisions, M6, RMC Découverte, and Netflix. Notable projects include the prime-time specials “Une nuit avec…” hosted by Michel Drucker and broadcasted on France 2, “d’Art d’Art”, a co-production (now D18 – d’Art d’Art) broadcasted for 18 years on France 2, and “Métronome”, a docu-fiction series hosted by Lorànt Deutsch and broadcasted on France 5, TV5Monde, and Netflix.

In 2019, Tim Newman founded D18 Paris, his new production company, and took the opportunity to assemble a completely new team.
