International Danse festival of Tirana
Under the leadership of Tim Newman (D18 Paris) and the artistic direction of Angelin Preljocaj, the first International Contemporary Dance Festival took place in Tirana from October 28 to November 4, 2022.
Building on its success, the fourth edition will be held from October 8 to 25, 2025, featuring top international companies such as Ballet Preljocaj, Aterballetto, and more.
In collaboration with the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the highly anticipated third edition of the Tirana International Dance Festival will take place from September 20 to October 12 in the vibrant city of Tirana.
Under the artistic direction of the renowned choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, the festival aims to position Tirana as one of Europe’s dance capitals in less than five years, creating a platform for renowned dance companies and talented dancers. With a vision to create an inclusive experience, this year’s festival goes beyond mesmerizing performances to include a series of screenings, workshops, and free performances accessible to all.
With programming entrusted to Nicole Saïd, this dynamic and culturally rich event will showcase performances by renowned dance companies from around the world at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
This festival not only celebrates the diversity and innovation of contemporary dance but also encourages cultural exchange and artistic growth within the Balkan region. Featuring a diverse lineup of captivating performances, engaging workshops, contemporary art events, and special meetings, this annual project aims to offer young artists a unique opportunity to learn from renowned professionals.
