International Dance
Festival of Tirana

Under the impetus of Tim Newman (D18 Paris) and the artistic direction of Angelin Preljocaj, the first International Contemporary Dance Festival took place in Tirana from October 28 to November 4, 2022.

Building on its success, the fourth edition will be held from October 8 to 25, 2025, featuring top international companies: Ballet Preljocaj, Aterballetto, ….

URBX -
FESTIVAL DE CULTURES URBAINES À ROUBAIX

From June 15th to June 26th, 2022, the city of Roubaix was immersed in the rhythm of URBX, the Festival of Urban Cultures initiated by the city of Roubaix and D18 Paris. As part of the festival, the Culturebox program set up on the Grand’Place of Roubaix in front of more than 7,000 people on Thursday, June 23rd at 9:00 PM, for a grand and free evening open to all. The production and programming of this event were provided by D18 Paris.

Other projects

During the month of June, you could find:

  • An animated film created to honor the fortieth anniversary, with animation done by Studio H5 and its founder Ludovic Houplain. Houplain designed a musical parade that spans various music genres from jazz to rap, including electro and Raï, representing the different musical currents that have marked the history of the Fête de la Musique and paying tribute to its creator, Jack Lang. This film was screened in MK2 cinemas and is also available on social media.

  • A parallel digital campaign launched to share this anniversary with artists, featuring notable figures such as AMIR, JOEY STARR, SELAH SUE, BOB SINCLAR, BIANCA COSTA, SLIMANE, and many others.

Forty years ago, Jack Lang, former Minister of Culture and currently President of the Arab World Institute, created the Fête de la Musique (Music Day). So, on this 21st of June, D18 wanted to celebrate this anniversary by launching the ‘Happy Fête de la Musique’ campaign.
